Here’s an easy solution to another one of those annoying little computer problems. Somebody sends you an email with an attachment that contains, say, an Excel spreadsheet or a Powerpoint presentation. You try to open it, but you can’t because your computer doesn’t have these programs installed.Did you know that Microsoft provides free viewers for their Office products? That is, you can download the Office viewers at the Microsoft website, for example, download the Excel viewer at: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=10
Installing these free downloads will allow you to at least open and read your attachments. Of course, if you need to create or edit one of these files, well, then you need to open your wallet and buy the software. For many people, the viewer is a handy tool.
