When you use BillFlash with Lytec Medical Software, your patient statements are always sent to the patient’s current address on file with the US Post Office. BillFlash uses the US Postal Service NCOA or National Change of Address registry to scan all patient statements prior to mailing.Instead of having patient statements bounced back to your office, BillFlash can address your statements correctly on the first mailing. If a newer address is found in the post office registry, your statement will automatically be mailed to the patient’s new address. Whenever BillFlash sends a statement to an address that is more current than the one you have recorded in your Lytec software you will receive an NCOA report. It is important to check these reports on a regular basis and then make whatever changes are necessary within Lytec.
Login to your BillFlash account and under the My Documents menu, select Reports. On the right side (if BillFlash has picked up any changes) you will see your NCOA reports:

Click on the Filename and you will see a report listing your patient’s new and old address. Be sure to update the patient’s record in Lytec so that this won’t continue to occur for the same patient(s) every month. NCOA is just one of many great features in BillFlash.
